The Times of India is a Porn Rag

23 October 2011 6 Comments

I am not against porn. It has its place but that place is not in the pages of newspaper that pretends to be a national newspaper. It’s a dismal situation. Here’s a picture compiled by someone — graphically illustrating the fact that the Times of India peddles porn. They have been in that business for a long time. I wrote about it in June 2004 — Peddling Pornography. See also this April 2004 post about the Slimes of India.

    Sir,

They are publishing not only pictures or articles. When I was studying in Pune, i got shocked after seeing direct advertisements for prostitution (in the name of escort service)in classified columns of Times of India Pune edition. I don’t know whether this is legal or not, but still they are keep publishing such ads.

Don’t know how to stop this so called “One of the most respected business houses in India”…

Pls read foll. links on the rotten Slimes:

    2)http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-reading-times-of-india-the-pornographic-paper.html
    3)http://dilipbarad.blogspot.com/2008/04/obscenity-and-nudity-in-times-of-india.html also highlighting the same.

Aside from the above, the rag is biased beyond belief and promotes deliberate falsehoods regarding practically every sphere of activity in our country.

    Absolutely right !.

Not only it’s a porn paper but they only write sensational stories to increase their market share and comments.
Many times they also write controversial articles.
Comments by Indians are deleted while from Pakistanis are allowed.

    SHAME on TOI

On the contrary, I, and I suspect many many others, would much rather see this rag peddle sex articles ad nauseum than cover news about bollywood (crass and distasteful to the core, and as an added bonus entails collusion with gangsters) , or see their lame, gutless, multi-generational capitulation to Indian politics.

Of all the so-called national newspapers in India, barring the Indian Express during the emergency, and The Hindu (Chitra Subramaniam in Geneva during Bofors – she was eventually silenced due to political pressure and quit), none of them are worth using even as toilet-paper.

Our national newspapers have essentially been peddling porn in open gaze, ever since independence. When covering the activities and the pseudo “leaders” of the Congress, not only are we f*ed, we are reading a completely gratuitous description of how many times we got it and how the act is unlikely to end . With ToI, we can at least choose whether their tame sex improvement articles are worth reading and later, adopting in bed.

The same is the case with Bollywood. feeding the public obscenity and nudity in the name of “Public demand” .
Can those directors name a single person who went to them & said I want to watch nudity.
Mahesh Bhatt is their leader-every time people protest his movie he says -let them do it , it will give publicity to my movie.
