I posted a comment to Mr Swaminathan S Anklesaria Aiyar’s article “What Pranab will not say in his budget speech” in today’s Economic Times. The comment was “Mr Aiyar, kudos. You have hit the nail on the head. I could not have said it better. Clearly Pranab-da will not say that because of one reason alone: votes and vote banks.” The comment was held for moderation.
It got moderated into this: “Mr Aiyar, kudos. You have hit the nail on the head. I could not have said it better.” Nice.
Just like Pranab-da is scared to tell the truth for fear of loss of votes, the Economic Times is scared to publish a comment which is critical of the government for fear of disapproval of the government. Nice irony there.

It is Times of India group’s publication. (Or as Sandeep of SandeepWeb fame puts it ‘Slimes of India’). It of course has to please the government.
It doesn’t come as a surprise at all!
