Hello Atanu,

A long article that did not feel very long. I have known Freeman Dyson, through his writing, for several years now and I both like the man and agree with his views. I am not sure which came first. It was from his writings that I discovered Feynman.

Two things that particularly struck me were a) he does not have a PhD; (I did not know that) and b)when he says "the polar bears will be fine"; it reminded me of the countless instances when I was asked by so many here in Berkeley "But don't you care about the polar bears?", and my answer is always a simple and blunt "no".

I was also surprised by the speculation that his contribution to physics was not equal to his promise because he felt he couldn't match the brilliance of Feynman! Why isn't Feynman still alive!
