Prateeksha wrote that "humans have been around for around 5 million yrs." That is not true. It took around 2 million years for the evolution of Australopithecus to Homo Sapient. The cultural history of man is estimated to be around 12 thousand years only. Agriculture is dated back to around 10 thousand years only.

Modern human beings are less than 20 thousand years old.

@pankaj:

I think India will progress towards what we see in cities like Mumbai. A melting pot. Isn't it that we should live together in spite of our differences? Become tolerant. Instead of building walls? After all, there're a million differences even in a small family. The religions and customs we cling on to, are just around 2-3 thousands of years old. And humans have been around for around 5 million yrs. Environments and climates have never been constant too. Nor have the creatures inhabiting Earth. Change is healthy. So, there's no point hanging on to something - which doesn't really help - which people introduced long ago. We dint even know them. It is in our hands to do what we want.

People get the leader they deserve,our indifference, myriad castes,communities what else can one expect.India has i think lived its purpose and needs to be dismantled into smaller countries, it will be a physical separation as mental separation already exists.No loyalty to country but to ones tribe.

I think it's Indian citizens who are also responsible for this mess, as a healthy democracy is contingent on citizen participation on a regular basis, and not just voting once in 4-5 years.
