Atanu,

Great post, thanks! Couldn't agree more about being a learning machine. I found Charlie's prescription on adopting a multi-disciplinary approach very interesting- I wasn't sure till now if this was inefficient or inappropriate.

Atanu,

I shelled out $56 for a hard copy of "Poor Charlie's Almanac", brilliant book. It ties for the best book that I have read this year (the other one is Jessica Livingston's Founders at Work).

I had previously read, Munger's essay on Psychology of Human misjudgment -- it was an eye opener. Thanks to it I use words like "Constraint mis-reaction theory";-)

Munger possess a brilliant mind, read the book if you can. Some of those essays are available online as well.

Cheers,
Prakash

Thank you for posting that Commencement address. Just great to wake up in the morning and read something like that.

Its a beautiful collection of intellectual gems....though I think serving one self alwasy leads to the right solution if one knows what is truly right for one self....its like the broken window theory when one can see the invisible indirect good only then can he make the right choices for himslef and then serving the self is the easiest path
Thanks a lot for the address.

Thanks for the link Atanu. My favorite Munger's quote is about not knowing maths

"If you want to go through life like a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest, be my guest. But if you want to succeed, like a strong man with two legs, you have to pick up these tricks, including doing economics while knowing psychology"
