Well Anuj, it is conspicuous by its absence. When I did first read this, it was one of the points that stood out. I didn’t want to bring it up, simply because it wasn’t the main thrust of the piece. However, when you take a dig at one religion, one is bound to ask, what of the others? I believe Abhi’s comment was in that spirit. And I agree.

There’s an subtle holier than thou, streak in the article and it is only fair to call the author on it.

Anuj,I don’t think we Hindus are any better at taking a joke. I can easily recall an incident involving Ganesha and some footwear. And we are as much capable of violence as the next guy. It isn’t like we haven’t dabbled in it. So stop being an apologist for the lot.

Not pretty good, Hindus as a rule cant take a joke.
Both Hindu and Muslim pscyhe labour under past injustices. The only difference is in case of Hindus it is mostly true, and in case of Muslims it is mostly fabrication.

Abhijit – With due respect – What the flying F…K has “Hindusphere” got to do with Atanu’s piece??
Why is that everytime, anybody queries Islamic intolerance, you and your ilk, respond with, what of Hindu this or Hindu that.
Any rational person, who has lived in Islamic and “Hindoo” society can testify that Islam is much more intolerant than Hinduism, or than it’s two Abrahamic cousins for that matter. Thus deserving of greater derision and criticism by people, who wish Muslims well in the long term.
Another thing since I am on a roll, Why is it that when there is, say, a suicide bombing or any other cowardly terorrist attack by a “believer”, apologists urge us to address the underlying causes [ american intransigence, israseli occupation of palestine, indian atrocities in kashmir]. But the very same apologists ignore their own caveats, say, when a Hindu kills Muslims in response to the burning alive of their co-religionists or to avenge the ehtnic cleansing of nearly the entire population of Kashmiri Hindus.
Such blatant double standards only serve to make you increasingly irrelevant.
