But, at the same time it is also true that those policies were better options among the available options at the time, the only thing they should have done was to change them according to the change of times. I am no fan of Congress governments or its rulers, but only the most enterprising leader in Congress was Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao in my opinion, the economic reforms which he laid down has seen us to soar high into twenty first century, but does anyone remember him. Nehru was a true patriot and his fallacies as PM should be interpreted as integral part of the failure of governance at that time.
