Dear Atanu Dey

Prithviraj was not bastard or idiot but was very much noble... you can say Ghori more cunning and traitor..

Not only Prithviraj but original ruler of whole Iran (Parasis) also were cheated by such types of Invaders & what has happened today whole Iran became muslim.

Lacs of Indians could resist if only Prithviraj lost battle... Everyone wins and loses..This is what History says..
As an Indian you should not use dirty words like bastard and others for a great noble king Prithviraj Chauhan. He is still today known & remembered for his bravery.. nobleness and patriotism though He was a king of 12th century.. He remains in heart of Indians.. One should not use dirty words like this as an Indian..otherwise He will be consdered vulgur than Ghori.

Atanu,

Well put! That's exactly the point - Ask not what America has done for you, but what you have done for yourself. Every few years, some idiot lofty-softy wannabe great statesman comes along and damages India's resolve. Gujral with his doctrine, Vajpayee with his 'hand', or Manmohan Singh with his 'historic' meeting all end up sending mixed signals to the world. You cant blame others for asking what India is complaining about if the Indian PM is grinning into the cameras in the company of Pakistan's dictator.

As a commentator on by blog put it, we are victims of our own device.

Hi Nitin,

You probably aren't as old as I am because very few people are, but there used to be a syndicated cartoon about animals that lived in Okenfenofe swamp, One was a raccoon named Pogo and his classic remark was that,
"We have met they enemy and they are us!

A word of thought: India might be following the rationale,"Always forgive your enemies, that's what troubles them most".

Anant, it may be wise to check out history. Prithviraj Chauhan, Mohammed Ghauri. Prithvi (to his friends) defeated Sultan Mohammed of Ghaur and let him go. Eventually Ghauri defeated the friggin' idiot Prithvi and blinded the bastard and dragged him to Afghanistan and killed him. Even today Afghanis have the pleasure of stepping over the dumb idiot Prithvi's tomb in Afghanistan.

Be nice to your enemies and prepare to be screwed for centuries.

If Indians were not this stupid, how could they be ruled by barbarians for centuries?

Cudnt agree more. Hopefully, we'll soon be able to pay them back in the same coin from Afghanistan - unless someone gets that peace and friendship and unilateral gestures itch again.

Not sure if you are tuned in to the drama being enacted in AP.

Criminals who have no compulsion in torching train full of people, criminals who have no compulsion in blowing up trains and killing innocents, criminals who attempted to murder a CM...

Quote
On October 11, 1990, naxalites poured petrol inside a packed compartment of the Kakatiya Passenger at Ghatkesar railway station, 30 km from Hyderabad, and set it aflame killing 48 persons. The extremist People's War (PW) later owned up responsibility for the incident and expressed remorse saying it was all a mistake.

are being treated to a royal welcome and being put up in govt guesthouses, in-prosecution naxals are being given a days parole....makes me wonder what kind of people we are....there is a theory doing rounds that Congress had a pre-poll pact with Naxals that helped them secure the win...so this is a payback time....And we the people will witness another sordid drama...

Hi atanu,

I do not say that one should sit back and let the other take action. But, it is not at all wise to revert back to a cause, rather, it is much wiser to start a new cause (such that you land the opposition into some kind of a thinking thus, making him attempt something falsifing). But, I'll still keep up the words of wisdom: To revenge is pleasure, to forgive divine.

Hi!!
We might as well be a third world country if our Broadband policy stresses on High Speed Internet Connections as a 'thrust area for OVERALL development'. to quote one abstract line from the Broadband policy, "Recognising the potential of ubiquitous Broadband service in growth of GDP and enhancement in quality of life through societal applications including tele-education, tele-medicine, e-governance, entertainment as well as employment generation by way of high speed access to information and web-based communication, Government have finalised a policy to accelerate the growth of Broadband services." We are a Third World Country for sure. sorry for making such abstract remarks. BTB, Atanu, did you have a look at the Future-looking, high tech, glossy, blablaish broadband policy? Why were we waiting so long for this??
